Sunshine Artist
Since its inception in 1995, Sunshine Artist magazine's list of the 200 Best Shows has included Amish Acres Arts and Crafts Festival, the only Indiana event so honored by the prestigious register. From the 32nd best Traditional Craft Show in 1996, the show has steadily climbed the ladder to 24th, 16th, 5th, 4th, and now 3rd in the nation.
Published in the September issue, 100 shows are listed in each of two categories: Fine Art & Design and Classic & Contemporary Crafts. Says editor, Bill Sievert, "Both of our top 100 lists are highly competitive, and that is an honor for a fair or festival to place anywhere on them. As usual, many high-quality shows did not make this year's lists. As with a list of the top 40 hit songs or the 50 most popular films of the year, poll results make for fun reading, as we cheer for our favorites and grouse about those we believe should have fared better."
