More than a million vibrant blooms • 19 gigantic gardens and 20 hand-painted super-sized murals in seven welcoming communities in Amish Country, May 30 - October 1.
The Quilt Gardens... along the Heritage Trail joins quilting, gardening and art into a one-of-a-kind event. A colorful patchwork of quilt inspired gardens and quilt-themed murals linked by the roads that form the Heritage Trail.
Every quilt garden and quilt mural has its own intricate pattern, many are original designs, and each has its own unique story. Each of the seven unique communities that host quilt gardens & murals has its own special character and fun finds you’ll want to explore.

Day One (Tuesday)
Noon arrival in Northern Indiana
Noon - 3:30 p.m. Lunch & shopping at the Shipshewana Flea Market & Auction - no
Experience first-hand why thousands flock to “the trading place of America” every Tuesday and
Wednesday, May thru October. Shipshewana is home to the Midwest’s largest outdoor flea
market with over 900 booths covering 60 acres. The weekly Wednesday antique auction barn
has up to 10 rings going at once selling quality antiques and collectibles. There’s excitement
and special finds at every turn. A shopper’s paradise! Lunch on your own in the Flea Market
Carryouts or at the Auction Restaurant.
3:30 p.m. Depart Shipshewana for Nappanee
4:15 p.m. Check-in at The Inn at Amish Acres

The 80-acre restored Amish farmstead, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is the
focal point of Amish Acres. This heritage resort echoes the simple life of Amish society through
historic interpretation, dining, lodging, theatre, countryside tours, baked goods and 8 quaint
shops. A sixteen foot covered farm wagon with padded seats is pulled by an International
Harvester H tractor and gives guests an overview of the historic farm as it travels down the
gravel lanes, around the pond, past the historic buildings, and through the woods. Enjoy a fun
Amish traditional Haystack lunch. Enjoy the Quilt Garden at Amish Acres during your visit.

Embrace the Pace of Nappanee with a long and leisurely ride out to the countryside with Kathy
Miller as your guide. Watch Amish farms drift by your window as Kathy explains the daily life of
these simple folk. Meet Lamar Kuhns and his family as you observe a working Amish dairy farm.
Step into their cider mill and learn how to make apple cider the old fashioned way.
