Mennonite Historians gather at
Amish Acres to review
Anabaptist genealogy

John Stahly, third from left, shows off a section of his family tree at a luncheon at Amish Acres in Nappanee. It has taken Stahly 40 years to put together the family tree. Standing with John, from left, is Steven Nolt, Professor of History at Goshen College; Dick Pletcher of Amish Acres; Jan Gleysteen, historian;' Joe Springer, director of the Mennonite Historical Library at Goshen College; Gary Waltner, director of the Mennonite Historical Library in Germany; Mark Stahl, pastor of First Mennonite Church in Nappanee; and David Habegger, historian.

The Stahly family was instrumental in the founding of Nappanee in 1874, donating land along with others for the railroad depot to be built in the location of the new town.
