“Dear Cast and Crew at Amish Acres
Wow! What a wonderful season. My family and I enjoyed another year of season tickets. The performances couldn’t have been better…culminating with the clever, fun, colorful, enchanting, heartwarming Seussical! You all were spectacular.
Thank you for bringing life to our community. Wholesome, fun, and always well done.
Elkhart is fortunate – no, blessed by God – to have the Round Barn Theatre and each of you in the neighborhood. We’d be proud to have you build your careers and families here. May God bless you.”

It was a delight to meet you at the Theme Buffet Dinner last weekend. I have driven down from Chicago for the past five years to see every production at Amish Acres Round Barn Theatre. Having attended well over 1,000 theatre productions both in Philadelphia and Chicago, I believe the Round Barn Theatre has b far the consistently best musical productions I have attended.

I must be protective of my time and energy as I am a full time clergy working with about 600 recovering addicts in additiion to my Sunday morning worshippers, some of whom are deaf, blind and both deaf and blind.

I am also working on my 2nd doctorate, a Ph.D. in philosophy by correspondence with the accreditation from the University of Liverpool in England. I am sharing this personal information only to let you know why I must carefully choose my time expenditure, as all busy people are called to do. I cherish my Nappanee Amish Acres adventures.

Thank you for providing this high quality theatre, for it gives nourishment to my soul.

Once again please extend our thanks to all your staff for going above and beyond to see that our group had a wonderful time. Thank you too for helping to accommodate four of our guest who were not able to do the stairs at the theatre.

The food and the play were just wonderful, and it was the perfect way to end our visit.

Thank you again, we had a wonderful time!

Thank you for making possible a wonderful evening of food and entertainment for our Lake Union Conference group last Tuesday evening.

Seldom have our people enjoyed the quality of food that you provided. Please give our thanks to the kitchen crew and the servers. I think that we all came away stuffed beyond belief.

We also enjoyed the show Plain and Fancy. You told me that the scene with the New York woman in the Amish kitchen was hilarious, and it was. I was looking forward to that scene and when it was played the anticipation of it made the reality all the more delightful. Please extend our best wishes to the cast as well.

I go to all of the productions at the Round Barn Theatre. But--Fiddler on the Roof was so outstanding, I want to say that Broadway did not do it better! Please congratulate the cast.

Your production of The Music Man was a credit to Amish Acres. Having seen Dirk Lumbard (twice) last year at The Stratford Festival, we knew he could make a show sparkle and most of the rest of the cast rose to the occasion.

Sara Heigaard sang well and portrayed Marian Paroo convincingly. However, her costumes were to few in number and the Act II Scene I dress looked as if the hem had been put in by an inexperienced 10-year-old seamstress.

When the leading man has costumes from Stratford, the leading lady's clothes should come within a short distance of matching them.

Thank you Mr. Pletcher!

We enjoy immensely the Round Barn Theatre productions and thought we should express our appreciation to you, Jerry O'Boyle and your entire staff.  The recent edition of the quarterly newsletter was also greatly appreciated.  The history of your endeavors is admirable and we thank you for "hanging in."

My husband, Ned, drives from Plymouth to Bremen daily via the Plymouth-Goshen Road and had the opportunity to watch, on a daily basis, the dismantling of the round barn which is now "The Theatre."  He witnessed the care and craftsmanship of that portion of the project.

We've already enjoyed Tintypes and look forward to the season's productions and wish only great successes and pleasures for all who contribute to the performances.
