What is sure to become an annual event at Amish Acres, the Holiday Season was officially kicked off on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 28, with a Live Nativity and Holiday Light Spectacular. Visitors were greeted with hot cocoa on this warm fall evening to enjoy the outside activities. St. Nick himself arrived at 6 p.m. for visits with children wishing to supply him with their latest gift list. Mary arrived by horse with Joseph and laid baby Jesus in the manager of the stable with the goat, lamb and miniature horse. They were watched over by shephards and three Kings bearing gifts. Everyone joined in to sing carols and hymns. At 7:30, the courtyard lights were turned on with oohs and aahs from the crowd.
In addition to the Live Nativity and visits with St. Nick, guests were treated to free Christmas workshops including paper ornament, tags and card, and gift box making in the Amish Acres shops.
